TWENDE BACKHAUL / PRIVATE BETA

Your return trip.
Someone else’s
next delivery.

Connect trucks heading back with cargo heading the same way. A return-freight marketplace for carriers and shippers in Katanga and its connected corridors.

Built around the realities of Lubumbashi, Kolwezi and the road beyond.

A better use of the journey already planned

The delivery ends.
The opportunity doesn’t.

A truck delivers its load. Its return journey still has value. TWENDE Backhaul brings that spare capacity into view, so a shipper can find space and a carrier can find a return load.

Known as backhaul, backloading or return freight. Our application is the Bourse du fret retour Katanga — built to bring both sides into one operational workspace.

01 / FOR CARRIERS

You have the truck.
Make its return visible.

Publish the return route, loading availability, equipment, target price and remaining capacity. Keep fleet availability and bookings in one place.

  • Declare total capacity and existing load separately.
  • Offer spare tonnes, not just a whole truck.
  • Follow reservations and transport documents.
Apply as a carrier
02 / FOR SHIPPERS

You have the cargo.
Find room on the return.

Explore available return journeys and filter by departure, destination, truck type, available tonnes and price. Request the capacity your cargo needs.

  • Compare operational details before booking.
  • Reserve a partial load where space allows.
  • Keep the booking and waybill together.

Not every load needs a whole truck

Book the tonnes.
Not the empty space.

The application separates the truck’s total payload, cargo already on board and tonnes reserved through the platform. Availability updates as bookings are made.

Try this simplified example. It illustrates capacity only — no actual reservation or price is created.

From capacity to a coordinated journey

One journey.
A clearer process.

Two sides of the market, one shared sequence. The private beta helps us test that sequence with real operating requirements.

  1. 01

    Publish or discover

Carriers list return availability. Shippers search by route, timing, equipment and remaining payload.

  2. 02

    Request the space

Select the tonnes needed. The application checks available capacity and calculates the booking amount.

  3. 03

    Confirm & coordinate

After a validated payment, the booking unlocks the relevant carrier details and a PDF waybill with an authenticity QR.

  4. 04

    Follow through

Keep loading and delivery stages together, with a separate delivery confirmation code and an operational record.

Private beta: payment channels, fund handling and payout arrangements require provider activation and operational validation. This page does not accept bookings or payments and does not offer a regulated escrow service.

Built around actual freight decisions

The right details.
At the right stage.

01

Operational visibility, protected identities

Routes, equipment and capacity are visible for comparison. Carrier identities, plates and driver contact details stay protected until the authorised booking stage.

02

Equipment that matches the load

Standard flatbed, container chassis, drop-side, curtainsider / tautliner and lowboy / step-deck. Specify what you actually operate or need.

03

Starting with Katanga’s connected routes

Kolwezi, Fungurume, Likasi, Tenke and Lubumbashi, with corridor destinations including Kasumbalesa, Ndola, Durban and Dar es Salaam. Beta coverage depends on participating operators.

Before you join

A few useful answers.

Is this a transport company or a marketplace?

TWENDE Backhaul is the marketplace application: it connects published return capacity with cargo requirements. It is not a promise that a particular truck, route or delivery slot is available.

Can I reserve less than a full truck?

Yes. Partial-tonnage reservation is part of the application. The carrier’s declared payload, existing load and active reservations determine what remains available.

Will submitting this form give me immediate access?

No. This is an application to the private beta, not an automatic account registration. TWENDE will review your operating profile and contact selected participants with next steps.

Are all corridors and payment methods live?

No. The beta is being validated corridor by corridor. Payment channels and operational arrangements depend on configured providers, participating operators and onboarding. Confirm these with TWENDE before any real transaction.
